HIPAA & Patient Privacy

Understanding your health information rights and where to obtain the practice’s official privacy notice.

Last updated: October 19, 2026

About this information

This page provides general information about the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). It is not the practice’s official Notice of Privacy Practices and does not certify that this website or any third-party service is HIPAA compliant.

Contact Restore Vascular & Vein Center to request its current official Notice of Privacy Practices. That notice describes the practice’s actual uses and disclosures of protected health information, its duties, your rights, and the appropriate privacy contact.

What HIPAA protects

HIPAA establishes protections for identifiable health information held by covered healthcare providers, health plans, and their business associates. This protected health information can include records of care, diagnoses, and billing information. Not every website, app, or social media service is covered by HIPAA.

This marketing website does not collect medical information through forms or provide access to patient records. For information about website services and external links, see our Privacy Policy.

Your rights under HIPAA

Subject to applicable conditions and exceptions, HIPAA gives you rights to:

  • Inspect or obtain a copy of health and billing records maintained in the designated record set.
  • Request a correction to information you believe is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Request confidential communications through a different method or at a different location.
  • Request restrictions on certain uses or disclosures; providers do not have to agree to every restriction. Special rules apply to disclosures to a health plan for services paid in full out of pocket.
  • Receive an accounting of certain disclosures of your health information.
  • Receive a copy of the applicable Notice of Privacy Practices.
  • File a privacy complaint without retaliation.

Contact the practice for the process, timeframes, and any applicable fees or limitations for your request.

How health information may be used

HIPAA generally permits covered providers to use or disclose protected health information for treatment, payment, and healthcare operations, subject to its rules. Other disclosures may be permitted or required by law, such as certain public health reporting. Some uses and disclosures require your written authorization, which you can generally revoke in writing for future use.

The practice’s official notice, not this general summary, explains its specific privacy practices and obligations, including applicable breach notifications.

Keep medical information out of public channels

Do not post medical records, symptoms, insurance details, or other sensitive information in Google reviews, Facebook comments, or social messages. Those services are not this website’s clinical communication channels. Call the practice to ask how to communicate privately or request records.

Using this website does not create a physician-patient relationship. For a medical emergency, call 911.

Privacy questions and complaints

Call (816) 307-2402 and ask for the person responsible for patient privacy or for a copy of the practice’s official Notice of Privacy Practices.
