Our focus
Our HAE evaluations focus on appropriate candidates: patients with internal hemorrhoidal bleeding, including those whose symptoms persist after conservative measures or office-based procedures. Confirming the source of bleeding is part of every evaluation, and we do not proceed on an assumed diagnosis.
Coordination of care
HAE is one option within the broader range of hemorrhoid care. We coordinate with referring gastroenterology and colorectal colleagues, and patients whose evaluation points to a different cause or a more suitable treatment are directed accordingly. Endoscopic evaluation, including colonoscopy, remains guided by symptoms, screening history, and clinical judgment.
Our vascular surgeons
Dr. Robert Carter and Dr. Jonathan Wilson both evaluate and treat patients considering HAE. See the procedure overview and limitations for patient-facing educational information.
